The weekend meant finishing up (or almost finishing up–the capelet needs more chain) the capelet:
And the hat:
As well as some candle-making:
There was knitting, too, but I didn’t get a picture.
Don’t get TOO jealous at my crazy, wild life, okay?
I’m off to finish up the bits for TOMORROW’S editorial shoot! Can’t wait!
Happy New Year’s Eve!
I’m a little under the weather today, so go out and glitter for me tonight (since I’ll be home)!
I’m still trying to put things back together around here after Christmas (and a fabulous visit from my sister) festivities and a last-minute open-heart surgery for my grandfather (he’s doing well). In between orders, I’ve also gotten the end-of-the-year organization bug and have been re-doing my fabric stash, which (of course) has led to a more elaborate re-do (involving our guest room, new shelves, a new mailing station, and figuring out what to do with extra furniture).
So, rather than blather on too long about all that, I’ll just post some pretty for you. Cages being the theme. Enjoy!

Now that Halloween-crazy-town is over (my busiest season of the year), and the last-minute Vampire Ball, and the (I don’t think I’ve discussed this) RAWards (I made it into the final 3 designers of the year for RAW New Orleans!) are over, and Thanksgiving traveling has ceased (ending with my getting sick), I can try to focus back here again.
Once I’m feeling up to snuff I’ll tell you all about the RAWards, and show you my designs. But, for now, I’m going to play it safe and play the “post some pretty pictures of someone pretty” game. Today’s offering is Christina Ricci, a favorite of mine for years. Maybe a hold-over from my grunge-independent-dark years, but I feel like she’s made a rather successful transition to fashionista these last few years. Enjoy:
Kicking the week off with a 4am wake up call has inspired within me a fierce desire to lay about in a sunshiney meadow. Lazy fuzzy bumbling bumble bees bumping from flower to flower, dragonflies perching on my toe to see what I’m up to. The sun warming my face, a good book to keep me company.
Some pretty for your Monday–a tad later in the day, and a bit of a drive-by, as I am preparing for a couple of house guests! Enjoy the 20s inspired fashion editorial images, and I’ll be back tomorrow.
I’m not generally a Vogue kind of girl, but I make an exception for Vogue overseas–especially Vogue Korea.
Every image I have ever seen from Vogue Korea is beautiful.
Beautifully posed, beautiful sets, beautiful fashion, put together in new and gorgeous ways.
So, sit back, scroll through, and enjoy your pretty on this lovely Monday.
Some pretty for your Monday.
I initially started out looking for Dark Victorian inspired images, but that quickly devolved into “Ooooo! That’s pretty!” territory.
So, you take what you get. 😉
I’m off to work on some orders, as usual.
A peplum, a tunic, and some ruffled leggings are all in my near future.
In talks with a potential customer regarding a pretty cool costume…..
Also: totally rearranged three rooms of my house yesterday, after proclaiming I would rest and relax all day.
It’s still not done to my liking, but it’ll do for the week at least.
Was your weekend productive?
I hope so. I hoe you have a lovely day, too–filled with random fashion images! Oh, wait–MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Well, there, you can strike one thing off your to-do list for the day.
