I don’t really celebrate the day, but I know others do.

So, have a lovely day, wear a bit of green, and have a designated driver!

Laissez les bons temps rouler!

It’s Mardi Gras day!  And it’s raining and freezing cold out!  And I’m under the weather!

All that adds up to me, a heating pad, a blanket, some coffee and photo editing/listing of newbies for the shop.

Just listed seven (SEVEN!!!) new capelets over in the etsy shop:  https://www.etsy.com/shop/TrappedInTimeDesigns

Here’s to hoping it’s warmer in YOUR neck of the woods!

Lazy Days

So, I disappeared for a few days.  It wasn’t intentional.  It was a spur-of-the-moment-hiatus.  From pretty much everything.  G was out of town all week, leaving me and the kitties to fend for ourselves.  The weather was all over the place.  The orders were a little sparse.  The audio-book wasn’t delivering.  The stack of items to sew up wasn’t singing to me.  I was waiting on mountains of fabric to arrive.

It all added up to me, a cross-stitch project that I’ve been working on for 3 years, lots of hot coffee and tea, a blanket and Netflix.

Also:  re-arranging the living room.

But, I’m back, ready to go, if not raring.  Maybe it’s the time of year?  The not-quite-spring but not-quite-winter weather?

So, I’ll leave you with some pretty for your Monday morning.  My morning started with my asking the universe why I couldn’t just have one more Sunday before starting the week.  Ah, universe, how you vex me.

These are my favorite Pinterest images from last week.  Come join me at:  http://www.pinterest.com/trappedintime/

TnT Tuesday

I’m rolling out the Trapped In Time Tuesday feature again, folks.  Since it’s officially carnival time in these parts, I figured what better way to start than with a Mardi Gras accessory.

Image

This is a tulle boa, made from strips of tulle that I cut and sewed individually to a sturdy center strip.

Image

It has layers and layers of tulle sewn on both sides and is pretty fabulous, if I do say so myself.

You can find it in the etsy shop here:  https://www.etsy.com/listing/127893659/boa-mardi-gras-boa-mardi-gras?ref=shop_home_active_7

Bustlin’

New in the shop over the weekend:

Image

The bustles are all being offered on a made-to-order basis, too.

I’m trying to beef up the shop in between orders.  I have a whole stack of things that are ready to be sewn up, and I try to add to it every weekend, as well as subtract from it (ie: sew things up) every week.  Problems only arise when I’ve fallen out of love with whatever idea I had had when I cut whatever-it-is out.  Then….well, then it goes to the bottom of the stack.

So, like most of the world, I’m on pinterest (you can find me here:  http://www.pinterest.com/trappedintime/).

While I sat here today wondering what I’d post on this Friday– this Friday that has me finishing up some orders, shipping some others, looking forward to this evening (movie night with G–and POPCORN!), doing the generally boring, everyday things–I figured I’d share some of my favorite pinterest image finds from the week.

It’s my way of doing a blog post without really doing a blog post.  I’m sneaky like that.

Busy, Busy

Things are rather busy around here, with ready-made orders and made-to-measure orders.  I’m busily re-stocking my dwindling fabric supply (well, just a few of the regulars are dwindling, the rest is still VERY MUCH there), re-ordering shipping supplies (new stickers, address labels, thank you cards, etc), cutting new orders out, sewing them together, and getting things packaged and shipped.  I’m happy for the business, and enjoying the go-go-go.

These all shipped out today for various spots around the country and globe:

We also bought a new treadmill, so that’s been playing a big part of my morning routine.  😉

I finished up “The Tale of Halcyon Crane” by Wendy Webb on audiobook yesterday.  I pretty much listen to audiobooks the entire day long–at least, when I’m in my studio.  So, I go through a LOT of them.  I was so pleasantly surprised by my parish library’s selection, both online and in-house.  I enjoyed “The Tale of Halcyon Crane”–it has most of the things I look for in a book, really–ghosts, mystery, history & a huge old fully furnished inherited Victorian home.  Put those in a book and I’m there. Though I get a wee bit jealous over the house inheritance.  I’ve always wanted to inherit a beautiful old home full of history, secret passageways and lots of STUFF.

You can find the book here:  http://www.amazon.com/Tale-Halcyon-Crane-Novel/dp/0805091408

This Week

Cutting, Sewing, Book-Keeping.

It’s cold.  Again.

Overcast.  Again.

Makes me want to snuggle on the couch with the kitties and play Skyrim.

Instead, I will cut out the latest orders and listen to some audio books.

Stay warm, folks.  Looks like a lot of the country is in for some more beautiful winter weather.  Ugh.
