And, I’ll just put this right here, too.  I have no words, I think many of us are still rather shattered, and I can only wish peace for his family and the ultimate quiet of those inner demons for him.

Embroidered, Embellished, Pinterest Favorites

Things have started taking off in the shop this week.

Working-working-working!

Orders rolling in–early birds for Halloween are my favorites.

When things start taking off, and I start getting so busy, I always find myself getting enamored with techniques that force me to slow down.  That invite me to take that comfy seat and grab a cup of milky tea.

Pinterest Wednesday

Orders have slowed down around here, allowing me to catch up on some projects as well as plan some new ones.

And spend more time online.

My favorite pins of the week, in no particular order, and credited/linked when possible.

Pinterest Wednesday

I’m changing things up a little bit around here to free up more time to work on orders.  Attempting to blog 5 days a week was just making me crazy (or making me ignore the blog), so I’m scaling back to 3 days a week.

That said, who knows what will REALLY happen.

So, since I really enjoy sharing my Pinterest finds with you all, I’m moving Pinterest Friday to Wednesday!

My favorite finds of the week (and, as always, you can follow me here:  http://www.pinterest.com/trappedintime/):

Lazy Days

So, I disappeared for a few days.  It wasn’t intentional.  It was a spur-of-the-moment-hiatus.  From pretty much everything.  G was out of town all week, leaving me and the kitties to fend for ourselves.  The weather was all over the place.  The orders were a little sparse.  The audio-book wasn’t delivering.  The stack of items to sew up wasn’t singing to me.  I was waiting on mountains of fabric to arrive.

It all added up to me, a cross-stitch project that I’ve been working on for 3 years, lots of hot coffee and tea, a blanket and Netflix.

Also:  re-arranging the living room.

But, I’m back, ready to go, if not raring.  Maybe it’s the time of year?  The not-quite-spring but not-quite-winter weather?

So, I’ll leave you with some pretty for your Monday morning.  My morning started with my asking the universe why I couldn’t just have one more Sunday before starting the week.  Ah, universe, how you vex me.

These are my favorite Pinterest images from last week.  Come join me at:  http://www.pinterest.com/trappedintime/

Over the Weekend

Over the weekend I had my annual winter knits shoot with a couple of my favorite friends–who also just-so-happen to be an amazing photographer and hair/make up artist, respectively.  I also got to work with one of my favorite models again.  Looking forward to the final images!  I’m always so impatient for those.  I try really hard to not start asking “are they ready yet?” every few hours.

A behind-the-scenes sneak peek:

Image

My inspiration this year had to be, ultimately, scaled waaaay down since I don’t have an old falling-down house, tons of money, or a snow machine.  I started with this idea from a Vogue Korea shoot:

Image

Yeah….that wasn’t going to happen this year.  So, I scaled back and decided to do something similar to last years, with changes  Last year’s looked like this:

Image

That last knit shoot produced some of my favorite ever images.  Britt of Underexposed Photography did this years shoot, too–so I can’t wait to see how amazing the images are!

Hair inspiration this year:

Image

Make up inspiration this year–but without the crazy-creepy eyes.  I wanted her to look beautiful, but slightly frozen, going further with the frozen idea than we did last year.  (Amanda Bravender did hair and make up on my shoot–and she’s amazing, so it looked fabulous):

Image

I can’t wait to start sharing the final images!

Caged

I’m still trying to put things back together around here after Christmas (and a fabulous visit from my sister) festivities and a last-minute open-heart surgery for my grandfather (he’s doing well).  In between orders, I’ve also gotten the end-of-the-year organization bug and have been re-doing my fabric stash, which (of course) has led to a more elaborate re-do (involving our guest room, new shelves, a new mailing station, and figuring out what to do with extra furniture).

So, rather than blather on too long about all that, I’ll just post some pretty for you.  Cages being the theme.  Enjoy!
