TnT Tuesday

I am happy to report that I now have a shop on etsy (which you already knew about, of course) AND on rebelsmarket.  Check it out:  http://www.rebelsmarket.com/rebelsbooth/trapped-in-time-designs

As of now I just have custom/made to order items up over there–testing the waters.

I’ll keep my etsy shop around, of course, but rebelsmarket seems like a good venue, and allows me to reach a new market.

On that note, today’s feature is up for purchase in either shop–Black and White Striped Leggings:

legone

I offer these in both a full and capri length.

They’ve been pretty popular, and I have a stack of new material to try out–a narrower stripe in black and white as well as a red and white stripe.

legthree

I’ll get some made some day….you know, when I get all those extra hours I need?

You can find the leggings in either of my shops:

This Week

I received a surprising influx of hours at my part time gig this week (going from the normal10 hours to 21 hours), so I’ve been running around like a crazy person this week, trying to stay on top of it all.  The fact that my shift starts at 5am hasn’t been helping.  A 4am wake up call isn’t my idea of a good time.

Now that the week is coming to a close, I feel like I’m getting a little more sure-footed.  Next week looks to be just as challenging, so I’m thinking of ways to streamline my week days.

Still, I managed to finish up a few projects and start work on others.

Sneak peek behind the scense from a shoot that features my clothing:

A new shipment of striped fabric (for leggings) arrived.  I ordered some narrower stripes along with the ol’ stand-bys this time around–excited to see how those work for the leggings.

005

Found some irresistable notecards.

kahlancorsetminea

Got word back on that Kahlan costume–the bustier looks SO AMAZING!!  Happy customer and happy designer!

007

Finished up the burlesque bustier and ruffled shorts.  The bustier has a seperating zipper front for the closure.  I do believe I’ll be offering this option in the shop soon!  It turned out really well.  Hope I get final pictures from my client….

snake

A snake poked it’s head out to say hello at my husband’s office.  I wanted to pick it up, but figured it was best for both the snake and myself if I didn’t.

sky

The sky driving across the 24 mile Causeway bridge this past Saturday.

There was more, but I’m still getting used to remembering to snap pictures.  I’ll get it someday!

Darker Side of Things

darkfive

Some pretty for your Monday.

darkeight

I initially started out looking for Dark Victorian inspired images, but that quickly devolved into “Ooooo!  That’s pretty!” territory.

darkten

So, you take what you get. 😉

darksix

I’m off to work on some orders, as usual.

A peplum, a tunic, and some ruffled leggings are all in my near future.

In talks with a potential customer regarding a pretty cool costume…..

Also:  totally rearranged three rooms of my house yesterday, after proclaiming I would rest and relax all day.

darkfour

It’s still not done to my liking, but it’ll do for the week at least.

darkthree

Was your weekend productive?

darkseven

I hope so.  I hoe you have a lovely day, too–filled with random fashion images!  Oh, wait–MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!  Well, there, you can strike one thing off your to-do list for the day.

This Week

This week started out with finishing up a couple projects–a pair of ruffled boy shorts (I’m extremely smitten with these, btw and I’ll be offering these in the shop as soon as I can get a photo shoot set up):

009

My final Kahlan Mother Confessor bustier replica!  I’m really happy with this.  It took a lot longer than I expected it to, but I took extensive notes and wrote out and drafted my pattern immediately after completing, so that I can (hopefully) make it in MUCH less time the next time around (and I already got an order for another full Kahlan costume, so we’ll find out in a few weeks):

002a

Then on to a dress for a photo shoot.  The dress started out as just the base, and looked like this pre-fitting:

007

After the fitting, the dress became just a tad bit shorter (ha!  I have SHIRTS longer than this thing):

012

And then the draping began!  I didn’t snap pictures of every single version (trust me, you should thank me for that), but I have a couple.  Here’s one version that I liked an awful lot, but ended up being too bulky for what the client is going for:

017a

A little less bulky, but still too much fabric:

023a

Though I really liked the back of this one–I’m a fiend for a bustle (even if it’s not REALLY a bustle):

026a

And, the final result (pre-hand sewing):

028a

030a

I’m currently trying madly to finish that baby up so that I can make a head piece and another pair of ruffled bloomers to go with it by SUNDAY.  *gulp*

Wish me luck.

And send chocolate.  And caffeine.

TnT Tuesday

Today I’m sharing one of my favorite tunic dresses from my shop.

207t

I had *just* enough of this fabric to make this one dress.

I’d purchased the fabric eons ago as a remnant and could never quite figure out what to do with it.

188t

Then, I was preparing for my runway show a few months ago.  I had hit that place, that place where I’d completely lost my vision and couldn’t figure out WHAT I was doing.

I started scrambling about, making random boho-style things, because that was the style I was really feeling at the time.

181t

And, out popped this beauty.  I originally intended to include this in the show itself.  But that was in the haze of doubt and confusion.

As much as I love the tunic, it didn’t belong in THAT show.  And, so, it wasn’t included.

948

I’m a layering kind of girl, so I love it layered with a tank top, and over jeans.

Don’t get me wrong–it’s cute alone, too.

Mother Confessor

Wanted to share a couple of images by the amazingly talented Teresa Yeh Photography of my Kahlan, Mother Confessor gown.  I’m actually in the midst of creating two more of these right now for customers.  One is pretty much identical to that pictured, the other is altered a bit–detachable sleeves, and made in a raw cotton that is actually turning out quite lovely.

These were taken last year, and I just absolutely love them!

And definitely take a moment to check out Teresa Yeh Photography’s page–it’s SOO worth it!  Truly beautiful images–I hope to get the chance to work together in the future.  http://www.teresayeh.com/

Lakefront

Apologies all around (once again).  Things have been so busy around here, my poor little corner of the web has been severely neglected.

Custom work has continued to roll in, it’s the time of year to get my vegetable garden in order, I’m working on a number of collaborative projects, and all the rest of life’s daily routine.

I’m really just sneaking in today to share some images of a recent photo shoot I did for a friend of mine who designs some of the most lovely and unique jewelry around.  You can find her shop here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/BayouGlassArts

Continacollage

I got to play photographer, took the beautiful NancyJane (http://www.modelmayhem.com/2403245) and high-tailed it out to the lakefront.

continacollagetwo

It was a blast–though, I do wish the sun had made an appearance.  The resulting images, I think, turned out quite well.  Of course, as I keep telling people–it doesn’t take much skill to get good pictures of a gorgeous model wearing beautiful jewelry!

Eep

Business has picked way up in the last couple of weeks, and I’ve been sewing my fingers to the bone (when I’m not working the part time job, getting the Spring garden up and running, cooking yummy meals, sleeping, or explaining to the kitties I just can’t play right now).

Just popped in to share these two glorious images from my recent runway show.  Chip Kennedy is the photographer.
