Pinterest Wednesday

I’ve had a hard time finding inspiring images this week.

I just sat here for over 30 minutes in an attempt to beef up this post, and came away with NOTHING.

Not.

One.

Thing.

I need new boards to follow–do you have a Pinterest board I might like?  (share links in comments–PLEASE–I need more hauntingly gorgeous images in my life!)

So, it’s a meager offering this week, and all apologies for that, my dears.

But, still, GORGEOUS:

Behind The Scenes

Yesterday was a BLAST!

Image

New friends were made, old friends were enjoyed, and so much laughter ensued that my cheeks STILL hurt today.

Image

I feel so happy with how it all came together–my vision feels realized!

Image

I even remembered to snap behind the scenes photos throughout the day–no small feat for me.

Image

It all came together so well, and while I was exhausted by the end, it was so worth it.

Image

Now comes the hardest part–the waiting for the final images!

Image

But I’ll be patient, I promise.

Image

Until I see what is sure to be amazing photography by Underexposed Photography, I’ll flip through the bits I snapped and remember how much FUN was had.

I’m already itching for the next shoot!

This Week

As mentioned, I’ve been sewing like a mad-woman, getting ready for Sunday’s (SUNDAY!!!) shoot.

I’ve not snapped too many photos.

Well, I have, but I can’t share them all.  I’m hell-bent on creating a video of the process of putting this shoot together, so I’m hoarding images I’ve been taking.  It’ll be more of a slideshow set to music….but I’m calling it a video.  I might even call it a MOVIE.  A FILM.  I’ll be a Filmmaker, and pick up smoking again.

Or I’ll just make a slideshow to music and call it a day.

Probably the latter.  I’m tired.

So, anyway.  Sewing!  This:

And This is technically from last week, but it was in my pictures folder so HERE:

Also:  the giraffe dress has shipped off to its new home!

I’ll miss it.  *sniffle*

Pinterest Wednesday

I’m working on getting everything ready to go for Sunday’s Big Shoot!  (it’s almost here!  Already!)

That said, I haven’t had a lot of time to play on Pinterest, or facebook, or the blog….sewing, sewing, sewing!

But, I managed to find a few gems in the spare moment or two I scrounged together.  (note:  I wasn’t able to find much source material for these, so, as always, please contact me if you have info)

Enjoy! (follow me here: http://www.pinterest.com/trappedintime/)

Pinterest Wednesday

I’m changing things up a little bit around here to free up more time to work on orders.  Attempting to blog 5 days a week was just making me crazy (or making me ignore the blog), so I’m scaling back to 3 days a week.

That said, who knows what will REALLY happen.

So, since I really enjoy sharing my Pinterest finds with you all, I’m moving Pinterest Friday to Wednesday!

My favorite finds of the week (and, as always, you can follow me here:  http://www.pinterest.com/trappedintime/):

Shhhhh

It’s been awfully quiet around here lately.  I wish I could say it was because I’ve been doing exciting and fabulous things….but, really, it’s just been a lot of sewing and painting.

I did manage to sew up a few things for myself that have been in constant rotation.  These oversize t-shirt style tops are pretty much my go-to for the summer (and, MAN, summer is here in the South!):

Image

I also ordered a ton of jewelry, both on etsy and forever21 online, so I’ve been playing with new necklaces and earrings.

I rarely buy anything new for myself, and it’s even MORE rare for me to sew anything for myself.

Of course, I was WILDLY optimistic in my cutting out of things for myself and still have 3 entire skirts that need to be sewn–but those will have to wait for evening and weekend work.  Orders and photo shoots come first. 😉

Speaking of shoots–I finished up the second painting for the upcoming shoot:

AND I found a good deal on the PERFECT SHOES for the models:

Luckily the model who will be in the red pair has the same size foot as I….so those will most likely end up in my closet.

Off to package the weekend orders, hit USPS and then SEW-SEW-SEW!  Have a fabulous Monday, my friends!

TnT Tuesday

Image

It’s sunny and warm today, making me think of tunic dresses and summer.

Image

This giraffe print is one of my favorite finds–though I only found enough of the fabric (it was a remnant) for one dress.

Image

Tunic dresses are great for spring and summer.  Worn with or without a belt. With or without a pair of capri leggings.

Image

Perfect for long beach walks, summer festivals & backyard BBQs.

The Weekend

Shots from over the weekend:

Working on some sideshow-banner-inspired artwork for an upcoming shoot:

This is the second one, which you can barely see (even with the wacky editing filter I used), but I had to share it due to the Buster Keaton photo-bomb:

The arugula in the garden was just BEGGING me to make one of our fav salads, Arugula-Fennel:

We worked a lot in the yard, as evidenced by the mountain of limbs/fronds/weeds that we left behind:

Quiet Week

I’ve been taking it easy, sewing for myself and re-grouping.

Image

I decided to put all the custom orders back up, so if you’ve been waiting, now’s the time.

I planted some sweet oat grass for Lizzie.  When it got long enough for her to chomp on, I brought it onto “her” sun-porch and she promptly climbed into it, effectively smooshing and killing all the grass in the middle of the pot. :/

Image

I worked in the yard and found the new crop of Devil’s Horse grasshopper babies masquerading as a toupee. (I have NO idea if that’s the right name–it’s just what my family has always called them)

Image

Also, the first of the cherry tomatoes ripened (and were promptly eaten after this picture).

Image

I did whip up a few new items for the shop.  A pinstriped tunic top:

Image

And a Mardi Gras peplum skirt (so out of season, but it was in the stack of things to sew):

Image

Oh!  And I got my new ironing board cover (I treat myself to a new one every year)!

Image

(this is from the etsy shop Compelled To Craft, and I highly recommend shopping with them–this is my third from them, and I have loved each one.  Great quality, great prints.  https://www.etsy.com/shop/compelledtocraft)

As a few orders have already rolled in today, I’ll be back to normal production work next week!  I don’t know if my self-imposed vacation was long enough…..but it sure was getting awfully quiet in the shop. 😉

This Week

I keep forgetting what day it is this week.

I also decided to reintroduce caffeine.

THAT’S the kind of week it’s been.

So far, I’ve:

Finished up an Alice order.

Image

Made a new Dieselpunk military capelet.

Image

Created a super ruffly red and white striped choker.

Image

Made a beautiful silk brocade capelet.

Image

And spent many, many hours putting together sketches, images, prices and a full proposal for a really cool job. (SPOILER:  I didn’t get it–but I did give myself a ton of new ideas for future offerings and a potential photo shoot)

Image

I feel like I should have more accomplished by today….maybe I need to give myself some slack?
